Fourth book of Ezra, ch. 9

3  Therefore when there shall appear in the world earthquakes, tumult of peoples, intrigues of nations, wavering of leaders, confusion of princes,

4  Then you shall know and understand well, that YAHWEH the Most High spoke of those things from the days that were of old, that were even before you, from the beginning.

5  For just as with everything that is made in the world, has a beginning and is evident, and the end is manifest:

6  Even so also are the times of the Most High YAHWEH; the plain beginnings manifest in wonders and mighty powerful works, and endings in requital, effects and signs.

7  And it shall be that everyone who shall be delivered and shall be able to escape on account of his works, or on account of the faith whereby he has believed,

8  Shall be preserved from the said imminent perils that have been predicted, and shall see MY Deliverance in MY land, and within MY borders: which I have made kodesh for ME from the beginning.

The salvation will not occur in the existing reality, but in the land of the Lord (the mystical space of the New Testament).

1 About times and dates, brothers, there is no need to write to you

2 for you are well aware in any case that the Day of the Lord is going to come like a thief in the night.

3 It is when people are saying, 'How quiet and peaceful it is' that sudden destruction falls on them, as suddenly as labour pains come on a pregnant woman; and there is no escape.

Isaiah, ch. 5

26 He hoists a signal for a distant nation, he whistles them up from the ends of the earth; and see how swift, how fleet they come!

27 None of them tired, none of them stumbling, none of them asleep or drowsy, none of them with belt unfastened, none of them with broken sandal-strap.

28 Their arrows are sharpened, their bows all strung, their horses' hoofs you would think were flint and their wheels, a whirlwind!

29 Their roar is like that of a lioness, like fierce young lions they roar, growling they seize their prey and carry it off, with no one to prevent it,

30 growling at it, that day, like the growling of the sea. Only look at the country: darkness and distress, and the light turned to darkness by the clouds.
